Ken Roczen and Hunter Lawrence separated by a single point heading into the Salt Lake City finale; MXGP leaders Lucas Coenen and Simon Längenfelder hold slim margins after Trentino and Switzerland.
A one‑point separation raises the stakes: tactics, starts and risk management will decide the 450 title. 250 East and West come down to the final round.
AI-generatedKen Roczen holds a one‑point lead over Hunter Lawrence heading into the Monster Energy Supercross finale in Salt Lake City, turning Round 17 into a de facto championship decider. Both riders are in position to secure their first 450SX crown, which raises the stakes on every strategic choice this weekend — from holeshot attempts to how hard a rider will push through the opening laps. On the 250 side, Haiden Deegan (250 West) and Cole Davies (250 East) carry leads that can be lost or clinched at the last minute; gate drops and early laps are where title outcomes will be made or broken.
European championship mathematics remain compressed after Trentino and Switzerland; Simon Längenfelder's move to Red Bull KTM for his MX2 title defence is the season’s defining transfer.
MXGP’s points picture tightened following the Trentino round and the mud‑ridden weekend in Switzerland, where mixed conditions handed advantage to riders who managed consistency in chaotic races. In MX2, Simon Längenfelder — the reigning champion — has transitioned to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for the 2026 title defence, a move that makes him the clear centerpiece of KTM’s MX2 programme and a rider rivals will target. Expect the next rounds to favour riders and teams that can switch setup and setup philosophy quickly as surfaces and weather vary.
