Steam is the recommended purchase path for most players. PiBoSo also sells a standalone license, but current standalone licenses are not Steam keys.

Description/credits
MX Bikes is PiBoSo’s realistic motocross simulator with online racing, dedicated servers, dynamic terrain deformation, VR support and modding tools. Steam version: easier install, Steam library, updates through Steam, Steam purchase/refund ecosystem. Standalone PiBoSo license: non-Steam install unlocked by a license key sent by email. It is separate from Steam; PiBoSo states that only licenses purchased before 8 October 2019 can be converted to a Steam key.
