Thunder Valley Shake‑Up: Jett Lawrence Sweeps to 450 SMX Lead as Thunder Valley Reverberates; Coenen Twins Continue MXGP Charge

At Thunder Valley Motocross Park on June 13, 2026, Jett Lawrence produced two controlled motos to sweep the 450 overall and assume the 450 SuperMotocross (SMX) points lead. The weekend’s firm, mile‑high conditions amplified the value of a clean start and consistent lap times — advantages Lawrence converted into maximum points and the red plate. In 250SMX, Honda HRC Progressive’s Jo Shimoda took the overall in a race that produced the third different 250 winner in three rounds, underlining how open the class remains. In WMX, Lachlan Turner scored her second overall in two rounds, marking her as an early championship protagonist.

Why it matters: Lawrence’s sweep reshapes the 450 title narrative: it forces rivals to chase points rather than rely on single‑race upsets, and it raises questions about who can consistently pressure him across varied tracks. The 250SMX unpredictability creates both risk and opportunity for teams that can deliver race‑to‑race consistency. WMX’s early results show a front‑runner emerging and will affect team priorities and rider support going forward.
