Colt Nichols returns to Yamaha with PRMX for 2027

Nichols will race with his established number 45 and has already been testing the new YZ450 at the team’s facility in Florida. Beginning that work early should help both sides refine the motorcycle and build an effective working structure before competition starts.

For PRMX, the signing adds a rider with championship credentials and substantial top-level experience. For Nichols, it provides a return to a familiar manufacturer and an opportunity to turn that comfort into renewed momentum during the 2027 campaign.
