Joey Savatgy gives Ducati’s 450 program proven depth for 2027

Savatgy brings extensive 450 experience and renewed momentum after recording five top-five results during the 2026 Supercross season, including fourth place in Philadelphia. That performance provided evidence that he can still operate near the front of the premier class when equipped with a competitive package.

For Ducati, the importance extends beyond individual results. Retaining two experienced riders across multiple seasons should give the developing program more consistent technical feedback and a clearer benchmark as it adapts the motorcycle to stadium and outdoor conditions. Savatgy also gains the stability of a full factory-supported campaign and an uninterrupted offseason with his new team.

The signing therefore represents more than another place on the 2027 grid: it establishes Savatgy and Hampshire as the rider foundation of Ducati’s next phase in American racing.
